Data in the contracts can be auto-filled in two ways:
Based on the previous contract - this is mostly to save time
Based on company rules - this is mostly to limit human errors
Based on the previous contract
This is the default behavior and always occurs unless the company rules overwrite it. When a contract is created, then the data from the previous contract will be copied.
In the below case a contract for the 1st of May is about to be created, and as can be seen, the previous contract is as Sales Assistant from 1st of March, hence data from that one will be copied.
This includes all data, including salary information. However, if the employee that's creating the new contract doesn't have access to the previous contract, which can be because the job title level is not high enough, then the salary information will not be copied, in order to keep this information confidential.
Based on company rules
Besides the default copy logic, there's also a way to add predefined values to ensure that the employees get the right contract hours and salary.
This is configured from Menu - Administration - Settings - Role-based settings, as seen below.
By looking at the date of the contract and the job title of the employee, a given value is automatically added. This value takes priority over the auto-copied value from the previous contract, but it can be overwritten before saving the contract.
It's currently possible to configure auto-fill values for these fields:
Salary/month and salary/hour
Extra salary in percentages
Extra salary in amounts
