Introduction: What are Special Rules?
Special Rules help managers create schedules that follow employee contracts, company agreements, and local regulations.
Warnings and Blockers
Special Rules can be set up as either warnings or blockers:
Warnings let you know when a rule has been broken, but you can still continue with your scheduling changes.
Blockers stop you from completing an action until the issue has been fixed.
Blockers may appear after changes to employee contracts, Special Rules settings, or other schedule settings.
In Special Rules settings, you can choose whether a rule should be shown as a warning or a blocker, depending on your company's needs.
Managing Special rules in the schedule
After setting up the rules, you can manage Special rule violations by accessing the icon located in the top right corner of the schedule.
When a violation occurs, you can see:
The employee associated with the violation.
The date or time period affected by the violation.
A description of the issue that needs to be resolved by the manager.
For additional details, hover over the "?" icon next to the rule. This provides more information about the rule and displays the specific criteria or metrics used to evaluate compliance.
You can also add a comment when dismissing a violation to explain the reason. This helps colleagues and managers understand why the violation was dismissed.
Finally, Special rules are set up in the Special rules settings page. There, you can create different kinds of rules, set them as blockers or warnings, choose to enable or disable comments and much more.
