Step 1: Ways to Access Template Mode
1. Create a New Planning Period
Go to:
➡️ Schedule
➡️ Plan New Period
➡️ New Plan
2. Open an Existing Planning Period
Click the 👀 icon next to an existing planning period.
3. Access Template Mode from an Existing Schedule
If you need to make changes to an existing planning period, for example if a new employee joins the team or if the schedule needs to be adjusted, you can access Template Mode directly from the schedule.
Go to:
➡️ Schedule
➡️ Click the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner
➡️ Select Template
Step 2: Build Your Template
Build a template from scratch
➡️ Add shifts to employees or zones, depending on your preferred planning view.
➡️ Arrange the schedule as needed
➡️ Done? Click Save and enter a template name
Upload a template
Use a previously saved template as a starting point.
➡️ Click Load
➡️ Select the template you want to use
Edit a template
Make changes to an existing template.
➡️ Click Load
➡️ Select the template you want to edit
➡️ Update shifts, employees, or weeks
➡️ Click Save to keep your changes
Clear a template
Remove all shifts and start over.
➡️ Click Clear
➡️ Confirm the action
⚠️ This removes all shifts from the template.
Tips for Managing Your Template
Change Template Length
Adjust the number of weeks in your template.
Reorder Weeks
You can change the order of weeks within a template to better match your planning period or calendar weeks.
➡️ Click and drag a week to a new position
Example: If Week 2 should become Week 1, simply drag Week 2 before Week 1.
Duplicate a Week
Need an additional week with the same shifts?
➡️ Click the three dots (⋮) on the week
➡️ Select Duplicate
A copy of the week will be added to the template.
Schedule Groups
Schedule Groups allow you to control which groups are visible in the schedule.
➡️ Enable or disable groups to show or hide them in your schedule view
➡️ Drag and drop groups to change the order they appear in the schedule
Step 3: Roll Out Your Template
➡️ Click Save and enter a name for your template
➡️ Click Roll Out
➡️ Select the dates for the rollout
➡️ Choose whether to:
Overwrite Existing Schedule
Use this when you want to replace existing shifts.Add on Top of Existing Schedule
Use this when you want to keep existing shifts and add new one
➡️ Use Advanced Criteria if you want to roll out the template to specific:
Employees - Roll out the template to selected employees only
Shift Types - Roll out only specific shift types
Zones - Limit the rollout to selected zones
Example: If a new employee joins the team, you can use Advanced Criteria to roll out the template for that employee only, without affecting the rest of the schedule.
Important Information
ℹ️ Registered vacation and periodical absences are preserved when rolling out a template and will never be deleted or overwritten. Any other registered absences will be overwritten during the template rollout.

Template Mode allows you to create, edit, save, and roll out schedule templates. You can access it by creating a new planning period, opening an existing period, or making changes directly from a schedule. Once your template is ready, roll it out and publish the schedule for employees!
