Vacation balance cards – overview
Vacation balance cards give you a quick overview of an employee’s vacation balance and how it changes over time.
Here you can see:
Current vacation balances
Balance history (transfers, corrections, usage, and expiration)
Tools to filter and view balances for specific dates
What are vacation balance cards?
Each vacation type is displayed as a vacation balance card in the Vacation balances tab on the employee card.
Depending on the setup, an employee may have one or multiple balance card views.
Each balance card shows:
Accrued – Days accrued based on the vacation type setup
Extension – Balance extended from a previous holiday period (if enabled)
Transfer – Remaining balance transferred from the previous period
Corrections – Manual adjustments made to the balance
Spent – Vacation days already used
Expired – Balance that has expired according to vacation rules
Unpaid – Vacation days taken beyond the available balance (if allowed)
Where can I find the vacation balance cards?
Go to the employee’s employee card under HR > Employees and open the Vacation balances tab.
Here you’ll see all vacation balances for the employee 👇🏽
Using the date picker 🗓️
The date picker allows you to view vacation balances for different dates and holiday periods.
You can:
Select a specific date
Select Today
Navigate between months, years, and holiday periods
Jump directly to End of the period
The selected date determines which balances are shown. Balances may therefore change when you switch between dates.
Using filters 🎯
Filters help you focus on specific data.
You can filter by:
Vacation title (applies to both balance cards and history)
Event type (applies to balance history only)
This provides a clearer and more precise overview.
Balance history ⏪
Balance history shows all events that affect the vacation balance.
Each row displays:
Event type (accrued, transferred, corrected, spent, expired)
Comment (if added)
Valid from / to
Amount (days or hours)
The list is sorted by today’s date by default, but the order can be changed by clicking the date at the top.
