The contract feature is a large part of SameSystem, and includes many different possibilities and operations. In this article, we'll learn all about the contract tab, and how to get an overview of your users' contracts.
If you're looking for guidance on specific contract tasks, we recommend checking out these how-to articles;
The Contract Overview
Get an overview of all your users' contract details by heading over to the contract overview in the user list.
If you are an administrator, you can also access the user list via Administration - Users - All users. Here, you'll see a list of all the users you have access to.
Use the drop-down selector highlighted in the picture below, to tailor exactly what information you want in your overview. You'll be able to see details such as contract hours, salary costs, and contract start- and end date, for all users, in the same view.

The Contract Tab
Every user card has a tab called Contracts. This is where you'll be able to view, create, amend, delete and terminate all contracts for the specific user.
Pro tip: If you're located inside the contract overview in the user list, you'll automatically be directed into the contract tab when you click on a user.
The view should look something like this:
As time pass, the status of a contract will change. Below follows a description of the three statuses a contract can have, as well as what Termination will do to the user's contracts:
Status | Description |
Active contract | The current "live" contract. |
Upcoming contract | A contract that has not yet started. |
Fulfilled contract | The contract end date has passed, meaning the contract has been fulfilled and is no longer active. |
Termination | Not a status for one specific contract, but a specified date when all contracts will be terminated (ended). |
If you want to learn more about how to amend, delete, terminate and edit the start date of contracts, we recommend checking out this article 🙌
Help & Support
Any questions or concerns? Check out the solutions to our most commonly asked questions below;
Question | Solution |
I have an employee who is also working in another department, with a separate contract. Can we start two contracts for this user on the current user card? | No. The user needs one user card per department when they have a contract at both departments. |
Can I create multiple upcoming contracts? | Absolutely! |
I have created an upcoming contract, but the start date is wrong. What will happen to the active contract if I change the start date of the upcoming one? | The system is created to automatically adjust the dates between contracts, so there are no empty gaps. Therefore, you can safely edit the start date of the upcoming contract - the end date of the active contract will automatically change to end the day before the upcoming. |
What's the difference between termination and setting an end date to a contract? | Termination will put an end date to all current and future contracts, much like how "end date" worked with the old user card. Setting an end date to a specific contract will only end the given contract, and the user card will still be active. This is called a temporary contract, meaning that the system will automatically renew the users' previous contract when the current contract ends.
